Our Beloved Prophet

We will miss President Hinckley. It doesn't make it any easier to say goodbye when you know its coming. Being of the "younger " generation, I really don't remember any of the previous prophets very much. We want to join everyone in giving the Hinckley family our condolences. We know he was the Prophet of God just as we know President Monson will be. It's great to have a living instrument on earth for God to speak through. We know he has received a very warm welcome from his wife. This church is true and we're glad to be led by prophets. Thanks for a wonderful 13 years as the Prophet.

The infamous "newer" car

So at the end of last semester a Japanese acquaintance of ours graduated. This acquaintance happened to be going back to Japan to work. He also happened to have this 1998 Ford Taurus Lx. Since he was planning on just selling it to the dealer we decided to take a look. We don't much care for Fords and especially for the body style of the bubble a.k.a Taurus... but it is a definite upgrade with only 110000 miles and working heating and air. The main plus was that he is letting us pay him in March when he comes back to visit.
After having the car for about a month we are still happy with the decision to take it however there are plenty of features still lacking (being an Lx) that we wished we had. Such as power locks, cruise control and the likes. Also he put four new snow tires on it and gave us the four all season tires that are in great condition with it.
Not all is well though the other day we got a flat and when we popped open the trunk there wasn't a jack in it. So we called the new handy man in town...( I see why mom and dad liked having Hazen so close by). We got it fixed and we are back in action.
We need to arrange to get the Bonneville back to Sheryn now. That should be fun.

The long break recap.

The break started with my quarter century birthday. Naoko took me to go bowling together and then we went out to eat at the firehouse pizzeria. Good eats, mm hmm. She then took a nice german chocolate cake that we won at a white elephant party. ( a friend of ours works at usu catering and grabbed this leftover beauty). Naoko then decorated the cake we got for me with a golf theme.

The following friday night we headed down to Orem where we were able to hang out with everyone that made it to Utah that weekend. Also on that Saturday one of Naoko's best friends got married. ( The one that escorted Naoko at our wedding. So we spent the day in SLC and at the reception which caused me to be late for watching the BYU bowl game (~_~;)We enjoyed a nice a relaxing Christmas at my parent's house. Howie enjoyed all the attention as well as a big back yard to run around in. Here is Howie enjoying his present. On the 28th it was our 1 year anniversary (yeehaw) We went and had a fun lunch at a new restaurant called Sakura. It is by the Golden corral in Orem. It is a Teppanyaki type deal. It was surprisingly good and it is always fun to play with your food.So we also bought a car and are happy so far with it I have been lazy though and haven't taken a picture so we'll have another post with all the specs sometime soon. I am back into classes and couldn't be more disappointed. It was the first year in while that I wasn't also working so I got to sit around and be lazy. It was great. However I actually picked up a few days work through a temp agency and did some heavy duty egg lifting. Well that does it for this recap I'll end it off with our new family picture.
